Improving Information System Usability for Child Protection in Colombia
Abstract: This report describes the methodology used by D4I to assist Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (ICBF) to improve the usability of the Sistema de Información Misional (SIM), an operational information system. Specifically, the report explains how D4I guided ICBF to identify the most important end user needs to manage child protection cases in SIM, devise solutions and validate them with end users, and create the associated technical documentation. In addition to qualitative inquiries, customer journey mapping, user stories, and interactive prototyping are among the methods discussed.
