This work includes assessing which newborns are receiving chlorohexidine care for umbilical cord infection prevention as well as improving the Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Strategy Monitoring and Learning Plan through primary data collection, secondary data analysis, and developing assessment instruments. D4I also supported locally led research in Nepal through the Small Grants Program. The Central Institute of Science and Technology (CiST) College received a D4I small research grant to examine the impact of COVID-19 on family planning commodities procurement, supplies, and service delivery at all levels in Gandaki Province. © 2021 ORCD Small Research Grants Program D4I funded four research teams in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Nigeria with small grants and provided ongoing technical assistance in primary and secondary data collection, data analysis, and data dissemination. Results from these studies were disseminated directly to stakeholders where the research can inform and influence policies and programs. The study will inform scale-up of the intervention and reach more newborns.
