Children’s Safety in the Digital Environment: Study Results from Moldova Watch in English & Romanian Listen in Romanian Listen in English On September 30, 2024, D4I hosted a webinar about the safety of children in Moldova in the digital environment. The webinar was conducted in English and Romanian with interpretation. The presenters shared study results to provide a comprehensive understanding of how children, particularly vulnerable children, access and use the internet and their knowledge and experiences in the digital environment. The webinar addressed risks and protective factors to inform the improvement of measures aimed at fostering evidence-informed children’s safety in the digital environment. Related Resources: Children’s Safety in the Digital Environment: Republic of Moldova Presenters: Dr. Diana Cheianu-Andrei, a researcher at Sociopolis Consultancy in the Republic of Moldova, has over 25 years of experience in social policy development, sociological research, and external evaluations of social programs. Her work is featured in numerous national and international publications on social protection policies, migration, gender equality, and the involvement of marginalized groups in local decision-making processes. Camelia Gheorghe, MSc, has more than 25 years of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and social development experience in countries of the European Union, Western Balkans, Central Asia, Ukraine, and Moldova. She has been with Palladium for seven years, currently serving as D4I Chief of Party in the Republic of Moldova. Veronica Maevschi holds degrees in philology and economics. She began her career in the social sector, gaining an understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable communities and the importance of effective program management. Veronica joined La Strada, an organization dedicated to addressing human rights issues and combating violence and human trafficking. She has held various positions, and now, as Program Director oversees projects to assist children and victims of abuse.
