D4I works with local partners and USAID/Bangladesh to facilitate decision making based on quality data through achievement of the following objectives: (1) strengthen the use of data in decision making at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) by providing technical assistance and capacity strengthening to its Program Management and Monitoring Unit (PMMU); (2) strengthen the Directorate General of Family Planning’s leadership, implementation, and scale-up of the electronic management information system (eMIS) to all divisions in Bangladesh in collaboration with USAID eMIS partners; and (3) strengthen capacity for implementation research, population surveys, in-depth analyses, and outcome and impact evaluations through technical assistance, in collaboration with icddr,b’s Research for Decision Makers project, and the National Institute for Population, Research and Training (NIPORT). © 2023 Ali Imam Strengthening Capacity of the MOHFW Program Management & Monitoring Unit By embedding technical advisors within the PMMU, D4I has strengthened the use of data for decision making at the Bangladesh MOHFW for monitoring the country’s health strategy and sector-wide health program.
