Evaluating integrated health programs: An example from Nigeria On July 26, 2022, Data for Impact hosted a one-hour webinar on evaluating integrated health programs. The webinar was led by Data for Impact’s Siân Curtis, PhD, and Jessica Fehringer, PhD. Evaluating integrated health programs raises several methodological challenges. In this webinar, presenters described the design of an evaluation of an integrated health program in Nigeria as a case study of these challenges and how they were addressed in a complex real-world evaluation. Speakers Siân Curtis, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is the faculty principal investigator for the D4I project. Her research focuses on monitoring and evaluation of population, health, and food security programs, and on reproductive health, primarily in low- and middle-income countries. Jessica Fehringer, PhD, is the D4I Director and a social and behavioral scientist. Dr. Fehringer’s research focuses on mixed methods evaluation of population and health programs in low- and middle-income countries. She also has expertise in integrating gender into the monitoring and evaluation of global health programs.
